I loved this opener.

I made a bet with a guy in the parking lot of the Spectrum (renamed the F U Center) in 2002 at a "The Dead" show. I remember that Susan Tedechi was singing with them at that show. The bet was that the Grateful Dead played Casey Jones in 1984. He swore that it hadn't been played since 1982. He just knew it had been twenty years. We went and found a Deadbase in the parking lot and he couldn't believe I remembered that tidbit. It was easy. I knew the answer because I was here at this show and it is something you don't forget. Very hot. Merriweather is a great venue.

Fun night

Good bet Douglas. Hard to forget this opener as it was one of the few times it came out from here to the end. Tapes bear out the strength of this version and the crowd is way into it. Merriweather is a great venue for sure.
